Funding Opportunities
Millennium Awards Trust
Millennium Awards Trust awards are open to any social entrepreneur aged 16+ tackling a range of social issues. They give you access to funding and expert support to enable you to start or grow your social venture. Awards are funded through an endowment by the Millennium Commission with a National Lottery Grant. The program offers two tiers of funding: Starting Up grants of up to £8,000 for those committed to creating social impact in a financially sustainable way who are at an early stage or have started to make a difference to people's lives, communities, or the planet. Scaling Up grants of up to £18,000 are available for founders of financially sustainable social ventures that are making a positive difference, who have evidence of their social impact and ambitions to build on it. The program provides tailored support including a dedicated support manager who offers one-to-one coaching throughout the award period, access to a regular calendar of workshops from expert facilitators, business mentoring from a large network of supportive professionals, and legal adviser consultancy on topics such as legal structure, intellectual property, leases and contracts.
Funding Futures Programme
The Funding Futures Programme funds and supports 16-30 year olds with great ideas for solutions to help those sidelined by the financial system. The programme addresses the cost-of-living crisis affecting marginalised and minoritised communities by supporting young social entrepreneurs who are working to build financial resilience in their communities. By listening to and working closely with the next generation of leaders and pioneers, the programme helps create a future where a healthy economy means good, sustainable jobs, with money flowing back into communities right across the UK. Ideas can tackle financial exclusion directly or indirectly. The programme offers two funding tiers: Starting Up (up to £8,000) for those at an early stage or just beginning to make a difference, and Scaling Up (up to £18,000) for founders of financially sustainable social ventures with evidence of social impact and ambitions to build on it. Beyond financial support, the programme provides comprehensive tailored support including dedicated support managers, workshop series, business mentoring, legal adviser consultancy, financial literacy resources, and a peer community of fellow social entrepreneurs.
