The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust was generously instigated and endowed by the late Bruce Wake, who was wheelchair bound as a result of motor neurone disease before his untimely death in 1992 at 45 years of age. The Trust's aim was to encourage and assist disabled individuals to participate in and enjoy leisure pursuits. After operating for over 30 years and supporting many organisations, the Trustees have taken the decision to wind down the charity's operations with a view to ultimate closure, ceasing to accept new grant applications as of 5th April 2025.
