Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research PhD Studentships

The Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research (Loke CTR) offers fully-funded 4-year PhD studentships for home or overseas students in placental biology and reproductive science. Founded in 2007, the Loke CTR brings together 30 Principal Investigators with a shared interest in the scientific study of the placenta, early development and maternal-fetal interactions during pregnancy. The Centre provides a dynamic environment for PhD training across multiple Cambridge departments including Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pathology, and Genetics, as well as allied institutes. Students have access to unique training opportunities including presenting at annual meetings, attending seminars by distinguished scientists, participating in the Placental Biology Course, and receiving support to attend international conferences. PhD students become members of the Postgraduate School of the Life Sciences and are affiliated with one of Cambridge's 31 historic colleges. The studentship covers full funding for either full-time study over four years or part-time study over five years, with students expected to begin in October.
