EWM Travel Grants

The European Women in Mathematics (EWM) awards travel grants for women mathematicians who are EWM members and are at an early stage of their career or work in a developing country. The grants are meant to co-fund travel and/or accommodation for participating and giving a talk at a significant conference in their field. Each grant can provide up to 600 EUR total, with a maximum of 400 EUR for travel expenses and 200 EUR as a supplementary contribution for caring costs (including expenses of an accompanying person). Applicants can apply for either the caring grant, the travel grant, or both. Applications are evaluated twice a year by a committee based on scientific excellence (quality of CV and publications normalized by academic age), quality of the project (motivation and conference relevance), and possibility of access to other funds, with priority given to applicants with greater difficulty in accessing other forms of support.
