The Scranton Area Community Foundation is a community foundation serving Northeastern Pennsylvania with over 70 years of creating charitable connections. This scholarship fund was established in December 2024 to support educational expenses for customers or the children/dependents of customers of Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company who intend to pursue secondary education. The fund supports ten $1,000 scholarships awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who are customers of Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company, or who have a parent or guardian who is a customer, and who plan to pursue postsecondary education. Recipients must be customers or children/dependents of customers of the bank and must plan to pursue secondary education.
Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company Scholarship Award

Pay-It-Forward Scholarship

A unique aspect of this scholarship is the pay-it-forward commitment: when the recipient is in a position to do so in the future, he or she must commit to offering a similar scholarship opportunity to others. Patrick J. Dempsey & Ronald "Pete" Cann Scholarship

John R. and Maureen J. Pesavento Scholarship Fund
The John R. and Maureen J. Pesavento Scholarship Fund provides two scholarship awards each year to support incoming Freshman or incoming/rising Sophomore students enrolled as full-time undergraduates at one of four local colleges: Johnson College, Lackawanna College, Keystone College, or Penn State Scranton Campus. The scholarship operates on an alternating year basis. In even-numbered years, one scholarship is awarded to a student at Keystone College and one to a student at Johnson College. In odd-numbered years, one scholarship goes to a student at Penn State Scranton and one to a student at Lackawanna College. The spendable balance of the fund is split evenly between the two recipients each year.
John R. and Maureen J. Pesavento All Saints Interparochial Academy Scholarship Fund for Holy Cross High School
John and Maureen Pesavento established this scholarship fund in June 2005 to provide an annual scholarship to Holy Cross High School to an eighth-grade student at All Saints Interparochial Academy. This scholarship is administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation and supports students transitioning from All Saints Interparochial Academy to Holy Cross High School. John R. and Maureen J. Pesavento All Saints Interparochial Academy Scholarship for Scranton Preparatory School
