Ron Kachman Memorial Award
The Ron Kachman Memorial Award honors Ron Kachman, a dedicated educator who spent 41 years at NAIT and retired as the Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronics Technologies. Ron was a problem solver and inventor, visionary and mediator, advocate and friend, remembered as an educator who cared deeply about the success of his students and advocated for their access to education. This award was established in Ron's memory by a former student (Bob Found EET 81', IET 86') in consultation with Ron's family. This $1,000 award is available to students entering the Electronics Engineering Technology program at NAIT. The award is granted on the basis of financial need and satisfactory academic achievement, with preference given to Black, Indigenous or Persons of Colour (BIPOC). Opticians Association of Canada - Optical Sciences - Contact Lenses - Entrance Bursary

The award is designed to cover living expenses, specifically rent during the study period. Rent is considered an eligible living expense only if it represents a barrier preventing the participant from attending training. Students must submit evidence of a valid lease agreement and proof of rent receipts covering the period of study. Women Leading and Building Canada's Future Grant - (Dependent Care)
Available to women students enrolled in one of the federally recognized Building or Manufacturing Red Seal Skilled Trade programs or designated pre-apprenticeship programs at NAIT. Dependent care will be awarded on the basis of costs incurred to cover the cost of dependent care during the period of training. Students will be required to submit proof of expenses and/or receipts. Dependent care applies to costs directly associated with providing care for dependent children and/or adults during the period of training at NAIT. An eligible dependent is a person who is a resident in Canada (this residency requirement does not apply if the person is a child of the individual), is wholly dependent for support on the individual, and is either the individual's parent or grandparent by blood, marriage, common-law partnership, or adoption; or the individual's child, grandchild, brother, or sister, by blood, marriage, common-law partnership, or adoption and is either under 18 years of age or dependent on the individual by reason of a mental or physical infirmity. Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to: caregivers providing childcare services, day nursery schools and daycare centers, boarding schools, overnight sports schools or camps where lodging is involved, and attendant care. The funding for this award is generously provided by Employment & Social Development Canada.
Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation Grant I for Women-Identifying Students
The Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation Grant I is available to women-identifying students enrolled in any period of the Automotive Service Technician program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). The Sinclair Supply Ltd. Bursary in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning was created to honor Dan Sorochan's lifetime commitment to the industry, Sinclair Supply Ltd., and his community. Dan started with Sinclair Supply Ltd. in 1947 at age 19, working in various roles until becoming General Manager in 1953. To celebrate Sinclair Supply Ltd.'s 75th anniversary, the company created an endowment to support these bursaries in perpetuity for future generations of Sheet Metal workers, Gasfitter workers, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics. This bursary is available to students enrolled in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic apprenticeship program at NAIT. Awards are made on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Students must submit an application through the General Application system to be considered, and will only be evaluated during the period they are actively enrolled as a student. Sinclair Supply Ltd. Apprenticeship Bursary
In 1947, Dan Sorochan started with Sinclair Supply Ltd. at the age of 19. Dan worked in various roles until he was promoted to General Manager in 1953. These bursaries were created to recognize Dan's incredible lifetime commitment to the industry, Sinclair Supply Ltd., and his community. To celebrate Sinclair Supply Ltd.'s 75th anniversary, Sinclair Supply created an endowment to support these bursaries in perpetuity for the future generations of Sheet Metal, Gasfitter workers, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics. Available to students enrolled in the Sheet Metal Worker and Gasfitter program. Bursaries will be divided equally between each of the stated program areas. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Apprentices must submit an application to be considered for this award. Henri Daniel Memorial Scholarship
The Henri Daniel Memorial Scholarship was established in honour of Henri Daniel, an electrician who dedicated his life to his craft and worked across Western Canada. Henri Daniel was born in 1935 on a farm in Saskatchewan and pursued his career in electrical work, taking him from Saskatchewan to British Columbia, the Yukon, and eventually Alberta where he lived until his passing in 2024. His nieces, Sonya and Selene, created this award in his honour, knowing he would be pleased to support students in the Electrician Program at NAIT. The scholarship is available to Electrician apprenticeship students enrolled in the fourth period of the Electrician apprenticeship program and is awarded on the basis of top marks. This award recognizes academic excellence and supports students pursuing careers in the electrical trades.
