Bruce D. Curtis We Care Scholarship

The Bruce D. Curtis We Care Scholarship is presented to former We Care Ambassadors who are pursuing post-secondary education or relevant trade training. The scholarship seeks to encourage post-secondary pursuits and academic success. Named after Bruce D. Curtis, who was involved in the foodservice industry for 34 years and became the part-time Executive Director of We Care in 1990, the scholarship honors his legacy of growing We Care from 9 major sponsors to 51 major sponsors with annual donations reaching $500,000 by 1996. Students are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship annually for up to 4 years, totaling $4,000, for each year they participate in post-secondary or trades education. Eligible candidates must submit a completed application form, proof of enrollment, academic transcript, and a one-page letter by March 15th of each year. The recipients' names are revealed at the Annual We Care Gala.
