Funding Opportunities

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) support researchers' careers and foster excellence in research. The program targets researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers. Postdoctoral Fellowships help researchers gain experience in other countries, disciplines and non-academic sectors. There are two types of fellowships available: European Postdoctoral Fellowships for researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from another part of the world (lasting 1-2 years), and Global Postdoctoral Fellowships for mobility outside Europe (lasting 2-3 years with a mandatory 1-year return phase). Both types may include short-term secondments anywhere in the world and can include an additional 6-month placement in a non-academic organization. The program provides comprehensive financial support including living allowances, mobility allowances, family allowances if applicable, and funding for research, training, networking activities, management and indirect costs. Researchers must have a maximum of eight years research experience from the date of their PhD award and must comply with mobility rules. Applications are developed jointly between the researcher and a host organization based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country.

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility. The fellowships are open to excellent researchers of any nationality and encourage work on research and innovation projects in both academic and non-academic sectors. The scheme is open to researchers wishing to reintegrate in Europe, those who are displaced by conflict, as well as researchers with high potential who are seeking to restart their careers in research. Fellowships are provided to excellent researchers undertaking international mobility either to or between EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, as well as to non-associated Third Countries. Applications are made jointly by the researcher and a beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sector. European Postdoctoral Fellowships allow researchers of any nationality to come to Europe or move within Europe for 12-24 months. Global Postdoctoral Fellowships are for European nationals or long-term residents who wish to work in non-associated Third Countries with an outgoing phase of 12-24 months and a mandatory 12-month return phase to Europe.
