Kurt Weill Dissertation Fellowship

The Kurt Weill Dissertation Fellowship supports doctoral candidates conducting research on topics related to Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, and/or Marc Blitzstein. This fellowship is designed to assist in research activities for dissertation projects that address significant gaps in the scholarly literature on these important figures in American and European musical theater history. Fellowships are reserved for candidates with extraordinary potential for contribution to the field, as evidenced by recommendations from the academic community. The applicant's project should demonstrate scholarly rigor and address areas that have not been adequately explored in existing research. Applications are reviewed according to the Foundation's established evaluation procedures and criteria, ensuring that awarded fellowships support the most promising and impactful dissertation research projects.
