STINT (Stiftelsen för internationalisering av högre utbildning och forskning) promotes the internationalization of Swedish higher education and research. The foundation strengthens the international competitiveness of Swedish higher education institutions by serving as a national knowledge resource for internationalization. STINT supports academic collaborations with all countries outside the EU/EFTA/UK through various programs and grants, while also providing analysis, seminars, workshops, and reports on internationalization. The organization has invested approximately 1,993 million SEK in internationalization projects since 1994.

Strategic Grants for Internationalisation

The Strategic Grants for Internationalisation programme aims to contribute to the renewal and development of university-wide internationalisation. This programme is aimed at university leadership and supports strategic initiatives which build on or benefit from the drive and experiences of individual internationalisation pioneers, while clearly contributing to comprehensive internationalisation. Additional funds are offered to facilitate the participation of young researchers in strategic international projects. Such funding enables them to participate in and build strategic international projects early in their careers. The programme supports strategic international partnerships and collaborations that advance institutional internationalisation goals. Applications must be submitted by the vice-chancellor of a Swedish university, with each higher education institution allowed to participate in up to two applications per call.
