NW Hearts Charity Grants 2025

NW Hearts Charity is the heart charity for Greater Manchester and supports initiatives that improve lives by funding a wide range of projects that benefit heart health across the region. The charity operates a 2-stage application process, with Stage 1 being a brief expression of interest form. Applications that meet funding criteria are invited to proceed to Stage 2, where they are assessed by an Independent Grants Panel chaired by Professor Hugh Montgomery OBE from University College London. The Panel has multidisciplinary expertise from across the Greater Manchester region, ranging from tertiary, secondary and primary care, along with patient and voluntary sector representation. The charity will consider awarding individual grants up to a maximum cost of £25,000, with priority given to projects that cost up to £10,000 and projects that are likely to demonstrate rapid short-term benefit within 12 months. Applications must demonstrate a strong connection to Greater Manchester and have an impact on people or communities who live in GM, those who live outside of GM who may utilise healthcare services in GM, or organisations located in GM and their staff or volunteers. Applications should demonstrate close alignment with one or more of NW Hearts Charity's funding priorities, which include projects that benefit people living with heart disease, the family and carers of these groups, the specialist staff who care for them, heart disease diagnosis, and research into cardiac conditions.
