About
The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) is a scholarship program created to support underrepresented groups in STEM education. FOSSI provides $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 per year for four years) to exceptional high school seniors pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The program is made possible by founding partners including the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Chemours, and HBCU Week Foundation, along with support from over 80 participating chemical manufacturers and related industry stakeholders. Since its inception, FOSSI has funded over 860 scholarships and raised more than $40 million, helping to eliminate financial barriers and build a growing community of talented STEM scholars across 33 states attending 47 HBCUs.
