Since 1973, the Wellington Paraplegic & Physically Disabled Trust has empowered people with physical disabilities to grow, achieve, and thrive. The Trust makes finance available to the physically disabled community in New Zealand through targeted grants supporting aspiration, helping people push forward in life-changing ways and giving meaningful assistance to those seeking to challenge themselves, extend their abilities, and achieve personal goals. The objectives of the Trust are to make provision for the welfare and rehabilitation of physically disabled persons, with a focus on supporting their re-establishment and integration into the life and work of the community. This includes providing for their mental and physical needs, development and maintenance of facilities, supporting research relating to physical disability, and training of individuals to carry out these purposes.
