Fehl Charitable Trust (FCT) Scholarship in Music
The Fehl Charitable Trust (FCT) Scholarship in Music supports music students undertaking a degree programme offered by the University of Waikato who are facing financial hardship. Up to four scholarships will be awarded each year to students who are enrolled full time (120-points) in their second year or above of an undergraduate degree or any year of postgraduate study in Music at the University of Waikato in the year of tenure. The FCT was founded in 1987 by Peter and Rae Fehl with the principal objectives being the promotion of the arts, the relief of poverty, advancement of education and other charitable purposes that are beneficial to the community. This scholarship was established in 2023 through generous support from The Fehl Charitable Trust, provided through a relationship with the University of Waikato Foundation.

Huy Tien Vu Scholarship
The Huy Tien Vu Scholarship was established in 2022 in memory of Huy Vu who was well-known and valued member of the university community for over two decades. Huy, who arrived in New Zealand as a refugee from Vietnam, dedicated his career to support international students and fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment. This scholarship reflects his commitment to education and community providing support to exceptional students. The scholarship provides support to extraordinary international students or students from an international refugee background immersed in the University community and studying in year three or above towards an undergraduate degree in the Waikato Management School.
University of Waikato Squash Scholarship
The University of Waikato Squash Scholarship was established to foster excellence in high performance squash and to strengthen partnerships with community and national sporting bodies. This scholarship is available for all subject areas and supports students who are genuine prospects for future representation-level squash in the Waikato and/or New Zealand. Recipients must be members of a New Zealand Squash Federation affiliated club and/or playing representative squash for Waikato or Bay of Plenty. The scholarship provides $2,000 NZD to undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled at the University of Waikato. Previous recipients may apply but must have achieved a minimum GPA of B for their most recent 120 points of study.
Tū Ātea Scholarship for Māori Engineering Students
The Tū Ātea Scholarship for Māori Engineering Students was established to inspire and support Māori undergraduate Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or Computer Science and Software Engineering students. This scholarship is designed to nurture future leaders by providing financial assistance, valuable industry connections within the telecommunications sector, and membership in the Future Māori Leaders programme. The scholarship supports students enrolled in Year 3 or Year 4 of a BE(Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Waikato. Up to two scholarships will be awarded each year.
The Colin Davey Scholarship in Music
The Colin Davey Scholarship in Music supports highly talented and dedicated students studying music with performance and musical composition components at the University of Waikato. Valued at $8,000, the scholarship aims to foster excellence and creativity in the next generation of musicians. The scholarship was established in 2025 from a generous bequest by the late Colin Lester Davey, with funds held and overseen by the Public Trust. The University receives a share each year via the University of Waikato Foundation. The scholarship will first be offered in 2026, with one scholarship awarded annually in perpetuity. Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, or Doctor of Music programme that includes performance and/or musical composition components, have completed at least 120 points of study at the University, and achieved a minimum B average across their most recent 120 points.

Braemar Charitable Trust Scholarship in Health
The Braemar Charitable Trust Scholarship in Health was established in 2021 through the generous donation of the Braemar Charitable Trust. The Trust aims to improve health outcomes in our communities and to advance health equity and access. This scholarship supports second-year Bachelor of Health students who reside in the Waikato DHB region and are from populations, communities and/or regions typically under-represented in health. The scholarship is specifically for those who reside in the Waikato Te Whatu Ora region and intend to pursue a career in healthcare in the wider Waikato Te Whatu Ora region upon graduation. One $10,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a domestic student enrolled in their second year of full-time study towards a Bachelor of Health who is from a population, community and/or region typically under-represented in health who might not otherwise be able to access education.

The Braemar Charitable Trust Scholarship in Nursing was established in 2021 to support domestic students enrolled in their second year of full-time study towards a Bachelor of Nursing. The scholarship specifically targets students from populations, communities and/or regions typically under-represented in nursing who might not otherwise be able to access education. Recipients must reside in the Waikato Te Whatu Ora region and intend to pursue a career in nursing in the wider Waikato region upon graduation. Up to two scholarships of $10,000 each are awarded annually. The Trust aims to improve health outcomes in communities and to advance health equity and access.
Chemist Warehouse Master of Pharmacy Practice Scholarship
The Chemist Warehouse Master of Pharmacy Practice Scholarship provides financial support and possible work experience opportunities for promising Master of Pharmacy Practice students at the University of Waikato. Up to four scholarships, including potential for a work placement opportunity at Chemist Warehouse, are awarded each year to students who have applied to enrol full-time in any year of a Master of Pharmacy Practice.
