Funding Opportunities

African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Scholarship

The ARUA Scholarship Programme aims to provide financial support to prospective students who have demonstrated academic excellence at one of the member universities of ARUA. The scholarship is selective and merit-based and is intended for African students who are committed to Lund University. The scholarship covers a percentage of the tuition fees, up to a maximum of 90%, with the exact percentage awarded depending on the available budget of the programme/faculty concerned. The scholarship does not cover living costs. Scholarship recipients must still have the means to cover their living costs according to the requirements of the Swedish Migration Agency. Lund University is engaged in the scholarship programme to strengthen collaboration with leading research-oriented African universities, in line with their commitment to building strong partnerships and enriching Lund University's academic community.

Lund University Global Scholarship

The Lund University Global Scholarship is a selective, merit-based scholarship programme designed to recognise top academic students from outside the EU/EEA who are applying for degree programmes at Lund University. Each year, Lund University awards approximately SEK 20.5 million (€1.75 million / $1.85 million) in scholarship grants. As a top 100 university, ranked in the top 0.4% of universities worldwide, Lund University attracts high-achieving students globally. The programme acknowledges academic excellence by offering grants to exceptional students. Scholarships may cover part or all of the tuition fees, with the percentage awarded depending on the programme/faculty budget and not reflecting the student's academic standing. Recipients must still meet the Swedish Migration Agency's requirements by funding their living expenses independently. The scholarship is highly selective, competitive, and based entirely on academic merit, with financial need not considered in the selection process.
