About this opportunity
Graduate Women WA has established these awards to assist women enrolled in higher degrees by research to enhance the quality of their research and project. For 2025, GWWA offers six different awards ranging in value up to $5,000 each. The awards include the Graduate Women WA Open Bursary and Open Scholarship (both available to women in any research area), a Bursary for Research in Science, a Bursary for Research in Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences/Economics, a Scholarship for Research in Education or Childhood Development, and a Scholarship for Research in Social Justice and Social Justice Law. Awards are designed to fund specific academic purposes that will assist women to enhance the quality of their higher degrees, including travel for conferences or fieldwork, equipment costs, experimental materials specific to the project, and potentially living expenses if justified. Applicants must be women currently enrolled in a higher degree by research at a university in Western Australia, with their research proposal formally approved. Applicants must not be in full-time employment and must have completed at least one year's full-time equivalent of their candidature to be competitive. The bursaries are open to women of any nationality, while the scholarships require Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
