About this opportunity
This scholarship is funded by an ARC Discovery Project in conjunction with support from Curtin University. The purpose of the scholarship is to support a PhD student to carry out research in quantum collision theory. Currently, there is an urgent demand for accurate data on ion-beam collisions with atomic and molecular targets for the development and maintenance of fusion reactors, treatment planning in hadron therapy, and modelling astrophysical phenomena. The PhD project will focus on developing theoretical methods to generate accurate data to meet this demand. The student will gain expertise in high-performance computational modelling of atomic collision processes. This scholarship provides a living stipend indexed based on full-time studies for up to a maximum of 3 years.
