About this opportunity
The DOE Scholars Program is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, to tackle the nation's most pressing challenges in cutting-edge fields related to energy, environmental sciences, and national security. The program offers hands-on experience working on groundbreaking projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, nuclear security, energy security, cybersecurity, environmental management, research, technology and economic security, and emergency response. Participants gain professional growth opportunities and contribute to advancing energy technologies, enhancing cybersecurity, and addressing new horizons in fusion, supercomputing, and biotechnology. Appointments are available at DOE Headquarters in Washington, DC, DOE Field Offices, or other participating sites across the nation, with virtual appointments potentially available. The program provides financial support through weekly stipends and relocation assistance, along with opportunities for travel and training to enhance education and career potential. Appointments are designed with flexible duration to fit participants' schedules and can begin at any time during the year based on the sponsoring office's needs, with potential extensions available.
