About this opportunity
The Doreen Fyfe Nursing Scholarship will be offered to a first-year nursing student from a rural background. The daughters of Mrs Doreen Fyfe established this scholarship in honour of their mother, who dreamt of becoming a nurse, but whose circumstances including WWII, a rural background and limited educational opportunities prevented her from pursuing her dream. This scholarship provides a one-off cash payment of $3,500 to assist with educational-related expenses for students enrolling full-time in the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at Curtin University. The scholarship is specifically designed for domestic students from rural or regional backgrounds who are experiencing financial hardship or come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Applicants must receive a course offer into the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at Curtin University in Semester 1, 2026, and commit to full-time enrollment of at least 75 credits in their first year.
