About this opportunity
The Commonwealth Scholarships Program is funded by the Australian Federal Government and aims to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students experiencing financial hardship, particularly those from remote and regional areas. The Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS) is specifically available to students who have relocated from a rural or remote area to study and are experiencing financial hardship. It assists with the costs of relocating and housing. The scholarship provides a cash stipend of up to $3,000 per semester for the normal expected remaining duration of the course, which may be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards relocation and accommodation costs. Recipients must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who have been offered and will enroll in an eligible pathway or undergraduate degree program at Curtin University. The scholarship is need-based and aimed at supporting students from low socio-economic backgrounds who are relocating to attend university.
