About this opportunity
The John de Laeter Top Excellence Scholarship has been developed by Curtin University to reward and assist academically talented students who receive the top ATAR within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The scholarship honors Professor John de Laeter, the founding head of Applied Physics at Curtin in the 1960's and one of Western Australia's most distinguished scholars. His research publications cover a broad spectrum, from fundamental and applied physics, astronomy and geo-sciences, to issues in science education and the history of science. The scholarship is awarded to high school leavers undertaking year 12 WACE who select Curtin as their first preference through TISC for an undergraduate degree in Science and Engineering. Recipients receive cash stipends to contribute towards educational related expenses. The scholarship will be offered based on raw ATAR scores and the StepUp bonus is not considered when awarding this scholarship.
