About this opportunity
The Zijin Mining - Norton Gold Fields Indigenous Scholarship was established to support Indigenous students in mining and related fields, promote the cultivation of local talent, and foster long-term collaboration. This initiative aims to enhance the influence of Norton Gold Fields and Zijin in the Kalgoorlie region, and to actively give back to the local community. The scholarship provides financial support of up to $15,000 over one year for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in their third or fourth year of eligible undergraduate degrees at the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM). Recipients receive a cash stipend of $7,500 per semester and a guaranteed paid internship opportunity with Norton Gold Fields during the June semester break. The scholarship supports students studying mining engineering, metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, energy engineering, extractive metallurgy, mineral processing, or mining at Curtin University. Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment, achieve a minimum course weighted average of 60, pass all units, and complete the paid internship.
