2026/27 PGT Sanctuary Scholarships

Northumbria University is pleased to announce the Sanctuary Scholarship for those seeking asylum in the UK. This opportunity will award successful students a £9,000 contribution towards studies, as well as a full 100% fee waiver for a wide range of eligible Full-Time Masters courses, beginning in September 2026. The scholarship is designed to support individuals seeking asylum in the UK, or their dependants, spouses or civil partners, who are living in the North East of England and are unable to access UK student finance by virtue of their immigration status. Recipients must have received a conditional or unconditional offer on a Full-Time one-year Masters course at Northumbria University and meet all course conditions including English Language competency requirements. The scholarship will be provided for a maximum of one year while the applicant remains eligible and continues to make satisfactory progress on their course of study.
