About this opportunity
Since 1888, AAUW (American Association of University Women) has been one of the largest funders of women's graduate education, investing in women who go on to change the world. The program offers a comprehensive suite of fellowship and grant opportunities supporting women scholars to advance their research, careers, and leadership across diverse fields.
The program encompasses multiple funding tracks including American Dissertation Fellowships, American Short-Term Research Publication Grants, American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships, Career Development Grants, International Fellowships for Master's and Doctorate degrees, International Project Grants, International Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, and Selected Professions Fellowships for individuals. Additionally, Community Action Grants support organizations and AAUW Branch/State Affiliate chapters.
Between fiscal years 2020 and 2025, AAUW awarded $29.6 million in fellowships and grants to 1,538 women and community projects. The program empowers women scholars in fields where women are underrepresented, helping them strengthen their academic paths and advance to senior positions in their disciplines.
