AbbVie IBD Scholarship

The AbbVie IBD Scholarship program helps students with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) achieve their academic goals while they make a lasting and meaningful difference in their communities. Crohn's and Colitis Canada awards fifteen aspiring students a one-time $5,000 CAD scholarship to support their education at a Canadian post-secondary institution. The program helps alleviate financial barriers, enabling students to focus on their studies, pursue their passions, and engage in meaningful community work. The scholarship is a competitive process designed to support students who demonstrate academic aspiration and strive to sustain an optimal level of wellness, balancing their personal health and academic goals. Recipients are selected by an independent committee of leading gastroenterologists, community partners and patient representatives from across Canada based on letters of recommendation and a personal essay demonstrating how the applicant maintains wellness and inspires others.
