About this opportunity
This scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at The University of Queensland. Established in 2022 by a donation from Buchan under the UQ Scholarship Match Initiative, the scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pursuing undergraduate studies in architecture and design.
The scholarship provides $10,000 in financial support for students demonstrating financial hardship who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Architectural Design or Bachelor of Design programs. The award can provide support for up to 3 years.
The scholarship aims to increase educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in architecture and design fields. Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and other factors relevant to future academic success. Preference is given first to students enrolled in Bachelor of Architectural Design, then to those in Bachelor of Design.
