About this opportunity
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Entry Award supports academically gifted Australian Indigenous students to commence tertiary study at the University of Sydney. This award is valued at $10,000 and is tenable for one year only. The scholarship aims to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have achieved an ATAR of 85 or above in the NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent) to begin their undergraduate studies at the University. No application is required, as all eligible students will be automatically considered. The award is paid as one instalment after the census date of the recipient's first semester. Recipients must be commencing in the first year of an undergraduate degree through UAC and must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The award is not deferrable and must be taken up by enrolment in the first year of the nominated degree program in the year for which the offer is made.
