About This Opportunity

The NSW Health Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery Undergraduate Scholarships provide financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students pursuing careers in nursing and midwifery. These scholarships are designed to help students focus on their studies and continue their journey to becoming nurses or midwives while giving back to and caring for their communities. Connection to culture is central to the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and these scholarships support that cultural connection while building healthcare workforce capacity. Two types of scholarships are available: undergraduate scholarships of up to $1,000 per subject for students undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery, and Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse scholarships of up to $15,000 per year for Aboriginal students already employed as Enrolled Nurses in NSW Health facilities who are undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing. The program aims to increase Aboriginal representation in nursing and midwifery professions to better serve Indigenous communities across New South Wales.
