About this opportunity
The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme encourages Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to undertake undergraduate or graduate entry studies in pharmacy at an Australian university. The scholarship aims to address the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the workforce needs of the pharmacy profession by encouraging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to choose a career in pharmacy.
This scholarship provides up to $15,000 per year for a maximum of four years (approximately $60,000 total). Students must be enrolled (or accepted for enrolment) as full-time students at an Australian university in an undergraduate or graduate degree that leads to a registrable qualification as a Pharmacist. Three scholarships are offered annually.
Preference is given to students who are residents of rural or remote locations, though this is not a mandatory requirement. Eligible applicants are ranked according to their rural experience, assessed using the applicant's home address from five years of age. The scholarship opens annually from late November to late January.
