Academic Excellence Award

The Academic Excellence Award rewards academic excellence prior to beginning at Aberystwyth University. This scholarship provides £2,000 in the first year to UK domiciled undergraduate applicants who achieve high academic results. The award is automatically given to students who choose Aberystwyth and join in September 2026 if they achieve the required grades, including AAA at A-level, DDD in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, 34 points in the International Baccalaureate, or a range of additional qualifications on the UCAS Tariff Table. The Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma may be accepted in lieu of one A-level grade. No separate application is required; eligibility is assessed automatically based on achieved results. Please note that Veterinary Science and Nursing applicants are not eligible for this award as they follow a specific path for accessing bursaries.
