About this opportunity

The AccelNet program supports the creation of international networks of networks (NoN) to accelerate scientific research through coordinated international collaboration. The program has two tracks: Design Track provides 1-2 years of planning support to build capacity and launch synergistic international NoNs; Implementation Track Phase 1 provides 3-4 years of support to implement international NoNs through research planning and networking activities; and Implementation Track Phase 2 provides 1-2 years for early concept research arising from Phase 1 activities. Program goals are to accelerate scientific research at a rate not possible without international cooperation, make NoN members more competitive for research awards following the award period, and recruit and foster a diverse and internationally competent US-based workforce trained in conducting and leading multi-team international collaboration. Proposals must include detailed plans for collaborative networking activities that result in synergy across the entire NoN, involving a minimum of three domestic, foreign, and/or multinational research networks with at least one wholly outside the US.
