About This Opportunity

The Accessible Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Bursary supports Red Deer Polytechnic students undertaking practicum placements between September and December. This bursary is designed to reduce financial barriers for students from under-represented communities who are completing required work-integrated learning experiences in various health, education, and social service programs. The award ranges from $500 to $1,800 depending on individual circumstances. Students must identify as belonging to one or more under-represented communities including BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, mature students, newcomers to Canada, refugees, students with disabilities, female-identifying or non-binary persons studying STEM, those living in remote rural locations, or students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, students completing practicums located 60 kilometers or more (round trip) from their residence may apply for a travel subsidy component. The bursary is funded by CWIL Canada and aims to support accessibility and inclusion in work-integrated learning experiences.
