About This Opportunity
Active Kent & Medway is able to provide funding for clubs or organisations to encourage and increase participation in sport and physical activity for those living in Kent or Medway (excluding London Boroughs). 50% of the total project costs, up to a maximum of £500, could be available for projects such as new delivery programmes, taster sessions, events or pilot schemes, that help clubs and organisations either re-engage with their previous audience or encourage those new to activity to continue to be active. The fund also offers up to 50% of the costs, up to a maximum of £500, towards workforce development qualifications or training that increases the quantity and quality of coaches, officials, instructors and leaders in Kent, and therefore assist the development of sport and physical activity in the county. Applications are welcomed that demonstrate a commitment to tackling inactivity and inequalities in sport and physical activity, and increase participation by creating inclusive, accessible, and engaging opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Priority is given to applications that engage participants or workforce from culturally diverse communities, people with disabilities or long-term health conditions, women and girls, LGBTQA+ communities, and those from low socio-economic backgrounds. Applications received by the last day of each month will be considered by a panel on the second Friday of each month, and applicants will be notified of the decision shortly afterwards. Grant awards will be paid by BACS transfer to the club or organisation via the KCC finance system and can take up to 30 days from the date the BACS details are processed.
