About this opportunity
The ACUFC French as a Second Language (FLS) Graduate Scholarship was established in 2025 to encourage English-speaking students to pursue their postsecondary studies in their second official language, in this case French, to help them in their efforts to learn, use and improve their French-language skills, and to expand their understanding of Francophone culture. The aim is to increase bilingualism among young English-speaking Canadians. The award is given to a University of Regina graduate student who completed their undergraduate degree in an English or non-official language institution, takes at least 50% of their courses and participates in related activities in French, and is registered in at least 6 credit hours in the semester the award is presented. Special consideration is given to students facing financial challenges, those from under-represented groups, and first-generation college or university students.
