About this opportunity
The Adamo and Francesca Boncardo MySydney Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship program designed to address educational disadvantage experienced by people living in areas affected by socio-economic disadvantage. The scholarship provides financial support of $8,500 per year for domestic students who have applied through UAC and reside in areas listed in the bottom 25 percent of the Australian Bureau of Statistics Socio-Economic Index for Areas (SEIFA) Index of Education and Occupation. The scholarship aims to facilitate and support participation in University of Sydney undergraduate courses for students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Recipients receive comprehensive support beyond the financial award, including transition support through the Preparation for Sydney Uni program, annual USU Rewards Membership, access to the Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Award valued up to $5,000 for exchange programs, eligibility for additional accommodation scholarships, and access to alumni and industry mentoring programs in their final year. The scholarship is tenable for the full-time published duration of the recipient's undergraduate degree up to a maximum of 5 years, and can be held while studying part-time.
The scholarship does not require a separate application - students who meet eligibility criteria and receive an unconditional admission offer through UAC are automatically considered. This scholarship is currently not available to new students but represents a significant opportunity for eligible domestic students from disadvantaged areas to access quality higher education with comprehensive support.
