About this opportunity
The Advisers on Deaf Children (AoDC) Study Award is an annual study award provided by the New Zealand Ministry of Education to support Advisers on Deaf Children in pursuing the Master of Specialist Teaching (AoDC) qualification at Massey University. The award provides comprehensive financial support including funding for relief staff to cover workload for up to 45 days (pro-rata based on full-time equivalent status), full coverage of domestic tuition fees paid directly to Massey University, and 5 study leave days per year specifically for studying New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL). Applications open on August 1 and close on September 12 each year, with notifications provided before the end of December. Applicants must be permanently employed by the Ministry of Education as an AoDC, have permanent rights to live and work in New Zealand, and hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent. The award cannot be provided to those who have previously received funded support for AoDC training, and applicants must also apply directly to Massey University for admission to the Master of Specialist Teaching (AoDC) programme.
