Affronti Community Service Scholarship

The Affronti Community Service Scholarship honors a deserving high school senior from Strawberry Crest High School or King High School whose heart is dedicated to community service. Established by former Temple Terrace Mayor Joe Affronti and his wife Elizabeth, who have committed their careers to serving the community, this scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to making their community a better place. Applicants must be high school seniors in good academic and behavioral standing with a minimum of 75 verified community service hours. The scholarship awards $1,000 to support the recipient's pursuit of higher education. The Affrontis, through their longstanding philanthropic efforts, seek to encourage and reward young people who embody the values of community service and civic engagement. The application process requires submission of an online application, a 250-300 word essay, one letter of recommendation from a teacher or school staff member, a current high school transcript, and a professional or academic resume that includes community service experiences. Applications undergo a blind review process by a panel of outside judges to ensure fair evaluation.
