About this opportunity
The African American Volkswagen Employees' Scholarship Fund was established at The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide scholarships to persons who have been disproportionately affected by systemic barriers to educational achievement. This includes but is not limited to members of the plaintiff class and former employees of Volkswagen of America, New Stanton PA. The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors or students already enrolled in accredited schools beyond high school who demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Recipients may attend accredited vocational or technical trade schools, or 2- or 4-year colleges or universities. Previous recipients are encouraged to re-apply in consecutive years, as awards are made on a single-year basis with varying amounts. Preference is given to applicants who have been disproportionately affected by systemic barriers to educational achievement.
