About This Opportunity
The African & Caribbean Elders Service Legacy Fund supports the legacy of ACES, a charity established in 1992 to provide preventative support services to older people, with a focus on those from Black and Global Majority communities in Northamptonshire. Northamptonshire Community Foundation now administers this funding programme to continue this important work. The Fund awards grants up to £3,000 to Black and Global Majority-led organisations supporting older people from Black and Global Majority communities. Eligible projects include increased and improved access to services, assistance for older people living in their own homes, advice and advocacy support, health and wellbeing initiatives, and activities to reduce isolation through participation in arts, sports, cultural, or educational opportunities. Grant awards must be spent within 12 months of receiving the award. Funding can be used for core costs, capital costs, and project delivery costs. The fund operates on a rolling basis with applications reviewed at the end of each month, allowing organisations to apply at any time without fixed deadlines. To be eligible, organisations must be small, locally managed VCSE organisations based in Northamptonshire, with 50% or more of their senior management, directorship, or trustees representing Black and Global Majority Communities. Applicants must have appropriate governance documents, safeguarding policies, and equality policies in place.
