About This Opportunity

The Agricultural Educator Awards are specifically designed to help those employed in agricultural education to widen and develop their own technical expertise through study activities either in the UK or abroad. It is expected that the knowledge and experience gained will then be disseminated to both students and others involved in the agriculture and agricultural education sector. Applications are especially welcome from those early in their careers in order to give an opportunity to focus on a particular area of interest which will help both the employing institution and assist career prospects of individuals. The awards particularly welcome applications focusing on the integration of science and technology in farming which contributes to the sustainability and profitability of agriculture in the UK as well as improving the future security of food production. A total of approximately £30,000 is allocated for a number of awards, with individual awards typically around £5,000 to support study trips. Normally study activities will be in the region of four weeks duration but longer or shorter term awards will also be considered.
