About this opportunity

An AHRC Doctoral Landscape Award (DLA) at Birkbeck will provide up to three fully funded studentships per year, over five cohorts, beginning in October 2026. This competitive award is available for postgraduate research students pursuing PhD programmes in Arts and Humanities disciplines. The studentships support doctoral scholars through a London and East of England regional training hub uniting 12 universities, offering core skills training, cohort events, development opportunities, and fostering interdisciplinary networks. Awards are made on the basis of UKRI terms and conditions, with most awards going to Home candidates, though up to one-third can be awarded to overseas candidates. The programme emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion, and aims to equip doctoral scholars for research excellence and future careers.
