AI & Data Science Challenge Award

The AI & Data Science Challenge Award is a scholarship opportunity offered by the University of Waterloo through the Waterloo Data and Artificial Intelligence Institute. This award recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who participate in and win first, second, or third place in AI & Data Science Challenge Events. Awards are valued between $250 and $1,000 and are distributed evenly among team members participating in the challenge. The selection of winners is made by a panel of judges who evaluate submissions based on a consistent rubric focusing on creativity and uniqueness of concept, practicality, ease and cost of implementation, overall benefit and impact, and overall presentation of concept. The award is available to both Canadian/permanent resident students and international students with study permits who are currently registered or have been registered in the last year at the University of Waterloo. This scholarship is available across all three academic terms (Spring, Fall, and Winter) and is open to both Master's and Doctoral students across any program at the university.
