About this opportunity
AiR Vimmerby consists of two residency grants, one for authors and one for researchers. The program aims to strengthen research and artistic literary creation directed at children, while developing the cultural life of Vimmerby Literature City through meetings with visiting residents from the rest of Sweden and the world. The residency takes place during two periods, one in spring and one in autumn. The first period is offered to children's book authors and translators. The second period is open to researchers in the field of children's literature. The residency includes travel within Sweden, accommodation at Gårdshuset at Villa Vimmerby in the old city quarters, and the opportunity for a public appearance where the recipient can talk about their work, either at Näs (Astrid Lindgren's childhood home) or at the library. A guided tour of Astrid Lindgren's childhood home and access to the reference library at Näs are also offered.
