About this opportunity
The AJS Dissertation Completion Fellowship encourages the timely completion of doctorates by the most promising graduate students in the field of Jewish Studies. Students who are in the final stages of writing their dissertations and who display clear evidence of their ability to defend their dissertations by the end of June of the fellowship year are eligible to apply for this program. The fellowship serves as a 'top-off' award, with the amount adjusted based on other funding the recipient may have. Recipients may receive up to $33,000 as well as complimentary registration fees to the AJS Annual Conference. The fellowships are awarded based on merit and need, supporting doctoral candidates in Jewish Studies who have completed all PhD requirements except the dissertation.
