About this opportunity

This grant program aims to promote physical and social activity and provide more elderly people the opportunity to participate and contribute to volunteer work. The program is part of the government's Elderly Initiative (Eldreløft) and seeks to enable more elderly people to participate in age-friendly meeting places and contribute as volunteers to the community. The program supports the activity guarantee under the Bo trygt hjemme (Living Safely at Home) reform and aims to counteract loneliness. The target group is elderly persons, both with and without need for municipal services, primarily persons from 60 years of age, mainly pensioners. The program provides funding for organized activities with local connections that include physical activity, lifelong learning, social meeting places, and cultural offerings targeting elderly people and volunteers. Activities must address multiple sub-goals including physical and mental activation, strengthening the ability to live safely at home longer, enhancing experiences of community and meaning, strengthening digital skills, increasing mobilization of elderly volunteers, and supporting caregivers.
