About this opportunity
Beginning Fall 2025, one award will be granted to a full-time returning student in the Faculty of Nursing four year or accelerated program who is in good academic standing, normally resident in Prince Edward Island, participates in the student life of the University or in the community, intends to practice in Prince Edward Island, and demonstrates an exceptional sense of compassion and care. Preference will be given to a student who has an interest in caring for the elderly. This award has been created in memory of Alan and Gail Brady by their sons, Michael, Jeffery, and Gregory. Alan earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Dunstan's University in 1964 and later became a successful businessman in western Canada. Gail earned her R.N. from the Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and worked at the Edmonton General Hospital before focusing on raising her sons. They retired to Stratford, Prince Edward Island where they were active in their church and community. This endowed award will be granted in perpetuity as a legacy memorial to Alan and Gail.
