Alan earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Dunstan's University in 1964 and later became a successful businessman in western Canada. Gail earned her R.N. from the Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and worked at the Edmonton General Hospital before focusing on raising her sons. They retired to Stratford, Prince Edward Island where they were active in their church and community. This endowed award will be granted in perpetuity as a legacy memorial to Alan and Gail.
