About this opportunity
The Eugene Boyko Memorial Scholarship was created in 2002 by the Alberta Barley Commission to recognize and encourage students entering the field of crop production and/or crop processing technology studies. Eugene Boyko, who passed away in the spring of 2001, was a long-time director of the Alberta Barley Commission. He was known for his commitment to agriculture and support of improved and innovative farming techniques. This scholarship has been funded through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund and provides one scholarship of $500 to eligible students.
The scholarship is available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time in the second or subsequent year of study at an Alberta publicly funded post-secondary institution. Students must be enrolled in courses with an emphasis on crop production and/or crop processing technology. The recipient is selected based on academic achievement in a program of study with an emphasis on crop production and/or crop processing technology in the previous year of undergraduate post-secondary study.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, or Protected Persons residing in Alberta. They must have attended fall and winter terms in the previous academic year and must not have previously received this scholarship. Applications are accepted between August 1 and October 31 each year.
