About this opportunity
The Early Childhood Educator Bursary Program (ECE) provides financial support to help students complete their Early Learning and Child Care certificate at an Alberta-approved institution and get certified as a Level 2 Child Care Educator. To support the demand for qualified Early Childhood Educators in Alberta, the Government of Alberta is offering this bursary program to help cover the cost of education. Eligible applicants will receive $10,000 in funding toward their certification in Early Child Care education. The bursary is paid in two installments of $5,000 each - the first upon approval and signing of a Return of Service Agreement, and the second upon successful completion of the certificate program. Recipients must commit to working at a licensed childcare program or dayhome in Alberta after graduation for a minimum of 2000 hours over two years. If the service agreement terms are not met, recipients will be required to repay the bursary.
