About this opportunity
The Alek Safarian MBA Scholarship is a tuition fee scholarship established from a generous donation by prominent alumnus Alek Safarian. This scholarship supports emerging leaders in the areas of pharmacy, pharmacology, medicine, nursing, or science who demonstrate an interest in the pharmaceutical industry and wish to pursue a part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Sydney Business School.
The scholarship covers tuition fees for up to four years for part-time students enrolled in the MBA program. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 and enroll in at least 18 credit points of study per year with continuous enrollment each semester. Preference is given to graduates of the University of Sydney from the specified disciplines.
The scholarship selection is based on eligibility for the MBA program, academic merit, curriculum vitae, and a personal statement demonstrating leadership experience and potential, professional and personal goals, and interest in the pharmaceutical industry. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an in-person interview as part of the admissions process.
Recipients are invited to represent the University of Sydney Business School at university and corporate networking events. The scholarship is dedicated to assisting students undertake the MBA program and develop their leadership capabilities in healthcare-related fields.
