About this opportunity

The Alexander Brown Memorial Scholarship is open to solid organ transplant recipients who aspire to better themselves through higher education. Students who are currently enrolled at or high school seniors who will be graduating from high school in the upcoming spring term and who plan to attend an accredited technical, 2-year, or 4-year institution are eligible to apply. This scholarship was created by friends of Sandy Brown to honor his memory and advocacy for organ donation and transplantation. Sandy recognized what the gift of life meant to his family after one of his daughters underwent a kidney transplant, and understood what a college degree could mean to someone who had already faced significant health challenges. The scholarship aims to support recipients in making a positive impact in the world through education.
